What is an Area Director?
An Area Director acts as the primary conduit between the District and its clubs. Appointed for the Toastmasters year which spans from July 1 to June 30, the Area Director plays a pivotal role.
Responsibilities include conducting biannual visits to each club within their Area to address and support their needs. These visits provide crucial insights to District leaders about how best to assist each club.
Area Directors also belong to a Division Council, which consists of 4-5 Area Directors under the leadership of a Division Director. This team collaborates to support the clubs within the Division.
Why become an Area Director?
Taking on the role of Area Director offers a unique vantage point to observe and learn from various Toastmasters clubs. It’s a chance to see different leadership styles and club dynamics in action, which can broaden your perspective and enhance your own club’s operations.
You’ll also connect with other dedicated leaders through the District Executive Committee, expanding your professional network and deepening your leadership and communication skills. Additionally, serving as an Area Director is a step towards achieving the prestigious Distinguished Toastmaster Award, marking significant personal and professional growth.
