Spotlight on Leadership: Scott Mason – The Myth Slayer with a Voice of Power

Scott Mason, a name synonymous with transformative leadership and storytelling, has been a dedicated member of Roosevelt Toastmasters since 2017, where he served as a past club president. As a former Area Director for Area 44, Division D, Scott’s passion for community building and leadership development has left a lasting impact on District 46. Among his many accomplishments, Scott co-founded Podcast Pioneers, where his dynamic energy and creative vision have inspired countless members to embrace the art of podcasting.

Scott’s Toastmasters journey began with a chance encounter at a party. A petite older lady, Doris Chernick, approached him and remarked on his commanding voice, suggesting he explore Toastmasters. Doris, a founding member of the legendary Roosevelt Island Toastmasters, had no idea her words would spark a transformation. Scott’s first Toastmasters meeting was nothing short of a revelation — a thunderbolt moment that propelled him toward a future in public speaking. Doris may have been making polite conversation, but her insight forever changed the trajectory of Scott’s life. Today, Scott remains an unwavering advocate for Toastmasters, continually paying forward the life-changing experience.

Beyond his contributions to Toastmasters, Scott has cultivated an impressive career as a transformational executive leadership coach, attorney, and professional speaker. Known as the Myth Slayer, Scott empowers clients to shatter toxic personal myths, discover purpose, and achieve professional rebirth. His coaching philosophy will reach an even broader audience in 2025 with the release of the first installment of his Myth Slayer book series, which transforms Greek mythology into actionable leadership allegories.

Scott’s leadership extends beyond Toastmasters. He spearheaded the creation of an ongoing partnership between District 46 and the National Speakers Association (NSA) NYC chapter, paving the way for a Toastmasters club tailored to NSA members, expected to launch in early 2025. A board member of NSA NYC, Scott has delivered high-energy speeches and workshops worldwide, including two upcoming TEDx talks in April 2024.

An entrepreneur, Scott has successfully scaled businesses, authored leadership content, and hosted six podcasts, two of which rank in the top 5% globally. His thought-provoking insights have appeared in publications, podcasts, and live events, solidifying his place as a thought leader in leadership transformation.

When he’s not inspiring others, Scott is an avid bicyclist with adventures spanning Ireland to Cambodia. He enjoys long walks, music, and sharing laughter with friends.
