General Information

District candidates can begin campaigning once nomination forms are received by the District Leader Committee (DLC) Chairperson. All candidates are required and responsible to follow all rules and regulations regarding campaign communications and practices found in Protocol 9.0: District Campaigns and Elections.

Rules of special note (not all inclusive) that have caused issues in the past:

    1. The following are ineligible to compete in any Toastmasters speech contest:

Candidates for District positions elected by District Council for the term beginning the upcoming July 1.

    2. Candidates for elected District leader positions for the term beginning the subsequent July 1 are ineligible to serve as a contest official or as a test speaker at the Area, Division, or District level.

    3. Candidates may only send campaign communications as will be communicated by DLC Chair. Any other campaign communications sent outside of these parameters may result in candidate being censured or asked to withdraw their application. A campaign communication is any message, in any form (such as phone calls, postal mail, email, social media, and fax) unsolicited by the recipient that promotes or publicizes a candidate.
    4. District officers may not endorse a candidate and candidates may not say or imply they have been endorsed, trained, or selected to serve by any District officer.

  1.

All nominees will be required to attend a virtual interview with members of the District Leadership Committee.

The DLC nominations will be announced on Toastmasters46.org after the conclusion of candidate interviews and consideration of the Committee.
