Nestled within the bustling community of Co-op City lies a haven for those passionate about personal growth and communication: the Co-op City Toastmasters Club. Recognized as a distinguished club in Division B, Area 21 of District 46, Co-op City Toastmasters is a vibrant assembly where voices are honed, leaders are made, and camaraderie flourishes.

Chartered on April 16, 2001, the club has become a beacon for individuals over 18 who are dedicated to the art of self-improvement. With open arms, the club invites anyone with a zest for learning, a penchant for fun, and the heart of a team player. Here, a collective commitment to excellence is not just an ideal; it’s the norm.

The club’s track record speaks volumes, having achieved 9 out of 10 Distinguished Club Program (DCP) goals, steering swiftly towards the coveted title of the “Perfect 10 Club”. This impressive feat has not only garnered respect within the Toastmasters community but also caught the attention of the wider public, with a feature in the Co-op City Times.

The lifeblood of the club is its 18 strong members, each contributing their unique perspectives and skills to the rich tapestry of the club’s narrative. At the helm are seasoned Toastmasters: Kathy Blount, DTM, the club President; Lauretta J. Jaysura, DTM, the dual-hatted Vice President Education and Sergeant at Arms; Nicole Howerton, LD5, DTM, the meticulous Secretary; and Andrea A. Haye, IP2, the astute Treasurer. Together, they form an executive team that not only leads but inspires.
