On October 20th, 2025, District 46 Toastmasters hosted a dynamic Vocal Delivery Improvement Workshop led by George Rivera, DTM, that left participants inspired, energized, and ready to speak with greater confidence and impact.
The interactive session focused on practical techniques to enhance vocal power, pitch, pace, and pauseβthe four key elements of powerful delivery. George guided participants through hands-on exercises, encouraging them to:
- π’ Increase vocal power by 20% for a more resonant and commanding presence.
- π° Slow their pace and integrate intentional two-second pauses for clarity.
- π§ Record and review their delivery to build self-awareness.
- π« Use diaphragmatic breathing to strengthen vocal resonance.
- π§ Build vocal variety deliberately for real-world speaking scenarios.
Breakout rooms allowed participants to practice live, experimenting with different vocal strategies to bring their speeches to life. Many attendees, including Jennifer Orellana and Venice Cid, shared how the exercises helped them feel more grounded and intentional in their delivery.
George emphasized that vocal variety is a learned skill, not a fixed talent β and with consistent, simple daily practice, anyone can improve.
βYour voice is your power. When you own your pitch, pace, power, and pauseβyou own the room.β β George Rivera, DTM
